Gorge

The car broke down for the last time.
So, I walked the way I had driven so many times, but this time by the side of the road, marginalized by my lack of wheels.
Slowly I descended from on top of the privileged hill into the city below, but this time able to stop at any moment I chose. No laws were violated in my views, and so I crossed and observed as I had not before the chasm carved into the land long before humanity constructed the bridge over the frozen land.
