It should have fallen to that slanted ground and rolled downhill or been snatched by the eager hand of a hungry monkey, ready to rip it apart.

Instead, it was trapped in this paradise garden of a grocery store in a bag of plastic mesh, like a prize from a demonic Bible story. How could its seeds ever be released? This fruit was not forbidden, and therefore was not worth having.

Its color was stripped away, along with its name, by the cultivation that made its life an unfair game with rules it could never know.
